I am Daniel. I am a 29 years old marketer who loves Web Development & Video Games. I am specialized in User Acquisition and Growth. I consider myself lucky for being able to work with amazing people.
I am not a guru. I like to help people understand how to increase the metrics of their websites.
I write in-depth essays about Growth, Web Development and sometimes Video Games.
Actually, I am working as a consultant helping companies increase their revenue.
I was born in Madrid (Spain) in 1988. I had a terrific childhood with supporting parents. Since I was a teenager I had an entrepreneur spirit.
After high school, I decided to study economic. After obtaining my degree, I realized that universities need to renew or die. Universities don’t prepare you for your next job, they just give you a piece of paper that indicates that you were able to work hard to get a degree.
After a couple of years working as a warehouse manager, I quit to go to Canada with my girlfriend. During that time I took the decision to focus on what I want to do with my professional future.
I have been always passionate about understanding why people purchase things.
I started to research the different psychology triggers that make consumer behave the way they do.
I started to look for master´s degree related to marketing and social media. I obtain a master´s degree in Social Media & Community Management, but been honest with you, I have learned more in websites like Hubspot, Quicksprout or Growth Hacker.com than in the master.
Entrepreneur & Leadership
When I was 14 I started selling hardware to my classmates. I found a few eCommerce which sold cheap pieces. I should have started an eCommerce back then.
During the next years, I found myself good at somethings.
I have the ability to get people involve to achieve specific goals.
Always trying to create a win-win situation.
A couple of examples.
I played WoW for a couple of years when I was 18. I loved to create low-level characters to get the best gear possible (usually level 70).
My character acquired fame in the community because I was the one who arrange the events related to level 70 items. I really loved it.
A few years after WoW, I found GW2. I was totally hooked with World vs World (large scale PvP).
I didn’t know how to play on WvW, so I join a guild. After understanding how it worked, I decided to organize events where I teach new players the mechanics. These events became a huge success (80+ people on Team Speak) leading my guild to became one of the most stronger of the server.
Furthermore, these events were the seed to something more important. I propose a meeting with all the guild leaders to gather the entire server under one TeamSpeak. We create a 500+ people community with one goal; became the best Europe server on Guild Wars 2. We were able to be top 2 server various weeks. It was an amazing experience built by several people who made it possible.
Looking forward to the next MMO with such a PvP experience. Hopefully Camelot Unchained.
After I decide to learn about how people make choices, I create this blog.
The main purpose of the blog was to help people understand how consumer behave giving examples with Video Games.
